The
medium sized silk totes are approximately 10 inches tall,
11 inches wide at the base and 9 1/2 inches at the top.
The top opening is approx. 25 in. around. The bottom width
is about 3 1/2 inches and the straps are 27 inches long.
These
rich totes are made with dupioni silk that glimmers and

The applique work on the silk totes is done using patterns
I've designed and made with silks, silk blend brocades,
vintage materials, silk embroidered Indian sari material,
and vintage silk kimono fabric. The luxury of these fabrics
is really showcased against the rich, dupioni silk. The
lining is satin and the roomy inside pockets will help
you organize with ease. Each bag has a tab with a magnetic
snap to keep the top closed, and metal purse feet on the
bottom to help protect from wear. In order to give them
more weight and body, I use a sturdy interfacing that is
flexible yet retains it's shape nicely. They feel so great!
The price of each depends on the amount of work I put into
it, the materials used, and if it's one-of-a-kind or a
few of a kind. I free-hand machine stitch a design onto
each back to give a nice detail and to bring out the loveliness
of the silk. I also add a printed fabric fortune for good
luck! These totes are perfect to go from the daily grind
to a night out on the town! Don't forget to show them off
in the sun- they almost come alive in sunlight!
