I've always loved making
the silk box totes (formerly known as the "Splurge" style),
but wanted to offer something a little smaller and with
a zipper. This is it! The wide bottom makes the purse stand
on its own, and the zipper keeps all your goodies safe
inside. Some styles have a double back pocket, while others
have a design top stitched onto the silk. All are lined
in satin and have the fabric fortune sewn to the top of
the back.
For some I make the entire bag from silk,
using silk and brocade to create a bold and graphic pattern
on the front and sometimes Indian sari material for a back
pocket. For others I use vintage Japanese obi material,
which is gorgeous without any help from me. It stands alone!
Take a look and see which one moves you
in a way that only color and pattern can. |
